The Great Interior Design Challenge - Highgate
BRIEF - Global Hotel Chic; inspired by the home owners trips to the far east.
A bed with a hint of a four poster, painted to replicate the original window frames, customised with a statement headboard using the texture of the cupboard doors and the stencilled patterns from the artwork.
The original doors were at different levels to the picture rail, which I felt looked cluttered, making the room fell smaller. New textured floor to ceiling doors draw your eye up giving the illusion of height and making the space feel larger. An abstract art piece featuring traditional Indonesian patterns conceals the wall safe and adds some colour to an otherwise serene space.
The small room was brightened up with a chalky white and a light grey, which wrapped around the ceiling and side walls for a contemporary take on the feature wall.
