This is just the beginning

I recently started on a new body of work… I thought I knew what I wanted to do with it until I actually sat down to start it…

I didn’t know where this new work was going or whether I should break it down into more manageable topics… I was overwhelmed.

So I did what I always do in situations like this… I complained to Leanne (my wife).

I explained (very ineffectively as always) that I needed to focus it down because there was too much; too much that I wanted to make work about and that I wanted to include in this particular body of work. When Leanne probed deeper into what I meant by that… I, in a whirl of over ambitious zeal, said “just fucking everything”. Her exact words were “well, just do it, you’ve got a big roll of paper in there. Start from the beginning and do it all. You can even call it ‘Fucking Everything’!”

So, that’s what I’m doing… Everything.
