April Update

Having started the year with the best intentions of posting a blog post every month, here, at the very end of April, is my second post of the year! Never mind! On a positive note, I have been working away in the studio on new artwork. I spent much of the first couple of months working on my iceberg drawings and paintings. These were a a continuation of my ‘Smoking Kills’ series exploring the theme of climate change. This has given me loads of ideas moving forward, which I will return to later in the year. As with the ‘Smoking Kills’ series, it left me really rather depressed and sad about the state of the world, especially as I found this series taking me into the realms of politics!

With that mind, I decided to focus my attentions on something more positive and uplifting for a little while. So, throughout April, I’ve been working on a series of works inspired by cherry blossom. I’m just putting the finishing touches on these now, so I hope to share these in my next blog post (once I’ve figured out how I’m going to frame them all up!

In the meantime, you can see many of the iceberg drawings and paintings in the ‘Defrost’ section, and if you are interested in purchasing any of the works, the links are there or you can email me for details.
